The European Classic Jazz Trio is reminiscent of the tradition of the 'small groups'; formations that have always played an important role in New Orleans Jazz. The musician-friends belong to the 'creme de la creme' of the European traditional jazz scene.
The European Classic Jazz Trio is a musical gumbo as a declaration of love to the hometown of jazz, hot and swinging, interpreted by three long-time friends and top-class musicians:

Der European Classic Jazz Trio erinnert an die Tradition der „Small Groups“; Formationen, die schon immer eine bedeutende Rolle im New Orleans Jazz spielten. Die befreundeten Musiker gehören zur „Crème de la Crème“ der europäischen Traditional-Jazz-Szene.
Das European Classic Jazz Trio ist ein musikalisches Gumbo als Liebeserklärung an die Heimatstadt des Jazz, hot und swingend, interpretiert von drei langjährigen Freunden und hochkarätigen Musikern:

Le European Classic Jazz Trio rend hommage à la tradition des petites formations de jazz, qui ont joué un rôle crucial à ses débuts, notamment à la Nouvelle-Orléans. Composé de trois amis ayant partagé les plus grandes scènes et festivals européens, ce trio incarne « la crème de la crème » du jazz traditionnel européen. Leur répertoire, véritable gumbo musical, est une déclaration d'amour à la ville natale du jazz.
Leur musique, chaleureuse et swinguante, est interprétée par trois amis musiciens de haut niveau :

Born in Munich in 1956 Uli grew up in a family deeply passionte about music with the sounds of Louis Armstrong, Joe King Oliver and George Lewis. Inspired by these Uli took up the clarinet and alto saxophone by age 12. In the 1970`s Uli founded the Storyville Shakers with which he toured European stages for over 50 years. After his first visit to New Orleans in 1979 Uli has organized many tours with musicians from New Orleans such as Sing Miller, Gerald French, Charlie Gabriel and Leroy Jones. Regular visits to New Orleans sincee 1979 have cemented his reputation in the birthplace of Jazz, where Uli performs at iconic veneus like Preservation Hall, DBA Frenchmen Street or Mahagony Hall. Additinally, he co-founded the Creole Clarinets with Thomas Ètienne 20 years ago exploring the rhythms of Caribbean Creole Music.

Harry Kanters

Harry Kanters is a virtuoso pianist in the various styles of the traditional Jazz. His specialty includes Ragtime, New Orleans, Stride, Swing and early Bebop. With his extensive repertoire, Harry is a popular pianist with so-called ‘All Star’ line-ups and a much sought after guest-soloist with various bands and internationally recognized. He further organizes  regular concerts with international guests.
Harry was member of the well-known JoJo Swing Band as well as the popular Swing Cats. He also leads several bands in various styles of which Classic Jazz Noblesse where he picks-up the trombone. Harry is also co-leader of the popular Louis Armstrong Celebration Band.

You can hear him on dozens of records and CDs, and is featured in Jazz clubs and festivals from Breda to New Orleans to Tasmania.

Harry shared the stage with numerous international Jazz-greats.

He has collaborated with legendary New Orleans artists such as Leroy Jones, Donald Harrison, Lucien Barbarin, Jason Marsalis, Don Vappie, Lillian Boutté, and David Torkanowski, as well as iconic musicians from other genres, including Chuck Berry, Steve Lacy, and many more. Over the course of his career, he has recorded more than 100 albums and performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and festivals. Renowned for his unique style, which blends creativity with a deep respect for tradition, Guillaume has earned numerous accolades, including the Prix de l'Académie du Jazz and the Prix du Hot Club de France. A passionate ambassador for the spirit of New Orleans, he leads projects that celebrate this timeless music. As an educator and author of reference works on jazz drumming, Guillaume Nouaux is widely recognized by his peers and the press as one of Europe’s foremost specialists in traditional jazz drumming.
