De ‘Louis Armstrong Celebration Band’ brengt een programma en show in de geest van de klassieke ‘All Stars’ van Louis Armstrong. Deze Nederlands/Belgische band bestaat uit louter coryfeeën die zelf een stevige naam hebben opgebouwd in de Europese jazzwereld. Zij spelen zonder het origineel te kopiëren maar leggen zich wel toe op het repertoire dat Uncle Satchmo speelde in de jaren ’40 en ’50.
Het publiek wordt door dit unieke ‘All Star’ gezelschap meegenomen op een reis door de tijd waarin de jazz steevast een hoog entertainment gehalte had. De muziek leeft en swingt en maakt het personage van Louis haast voelbaar. Door de humorvolle presentatie en zang is het bijwonen van een concert en echt feestje!
The Louis Armstrong Celebration Band brings a program and show in the spirit of Louis Armstrong's classic All Stars. This Dutch/Belgian band consists of nothing but celebrities who have built up a solid name in the European jazz world. They play without copying the original, but do focus on the repertoire that Uncle Satchmo played in the 1940s and 1950s.
This unique 'All Star' company takes the audience on a journey through time when jazz invariably had a high entertainment value. The music is alive and swinging and makes the character of Louis almost tangible. The humorous presentation and singing make attending a concert a real party!
Die Louis Armstrong Celebration Band bringt ein Programm und eine Show im Geiste von Louis Armstrongs Klassiker All Stars. Diese niederländisch-belgische Band besteht ausschließlich aus Prominenten, die sich in der europäischen Jazzwelt einen festen Namen gemacht haben. Sie spielen, ohne das Original zu kopieren, konzentrieren sich aber auf das Repertoire, das Uncle Satchmo in den 1940er und 1950er Jahren gespielt hat.
Das Publikum wird von dieser einzigartigen „All Star“-Gruppe auf eine Zeitreise mitgenommen, in der der Jazz ausnahmslos einen hohen Unterhaltungswert hatte. Die Musik ist lebendig und swingend und macht den Charakter von Louis fast greifbar. Die humorvolle Darbietung und Gesang machen den Konzertbesuch zu einem richtigen Party!
Le trompettiste et chanteur Michael Varekamp a dix ans lorsqu'il trouve un disque dans le cabinet de disques de son père : The Town Hall Concert de Louis Armstrong. Il l'enfile et est immédiatement vendu. Dix ans plus tard, il parcourt le monde en tant que trompettiste de jazz et connaisseur de Louis Armstrong.
Avec le pianiste Harry Kanters, il décide de former un groupe qui adopte une approche classique de la musique de Louis : le « Louis Armstrong Celebration Band ». Le groupe joue dans le line-up classique "All Star" de Louis et se concentre sur le répertoire que l'oncle Satchmo jouait dans les années 1940 et 1950.
Le public est emmené par cette troupe « All Star » unique en son genre dans un voyage à travers le temps où le jazz avait invariablement une grande valeur de divertissement. La musique est vivante et entraînante et rend le personnage de Louis presque tangible. La présentation humoristique et le chant font d'assister à un concert une véritable fête !
